Helping children and teens build resilience and cope with sadness, anger, stress, self-esteem, family conflict, stress and worry.
Supporting parents as they juggle daily responsibilities while coping with past trauma, anxiety, depression, and the stresses of family court, supervised visitations, co-parenting, parent-child relationships and family conflict.
Equipping parents and children to better understand and communicate with one another and to move toward family healing.
Renew’s counselling services offer therapeutic support to families dealing with the anxieties and stressors of high conflict relationships and co-parenting problems. I counsel parents experiencing separation or divorce; in high-conflict relationships; involved in family court, dealing with custody issues, or have children involved in supervised access visits. Additionally, I offer anger management and parenting classes that provide a certification of completion. Through personal goal-setting and a combined application of Behaviour Management, CBT, DBT and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, I have helped families navigate life’s transitions.
I have over 20 years of experience counseling children, youth, adults, and families battling with anxiety and depression; behaviour issues such as emotional regulation, sleep problems, oppositional behaviours, school refusal, parent/child conflicts, bullying; and family transitions such as separation and divorce, high-conflict marriage, parental alienation.
I understand that dealing with separation, divorce, custody, and the family court system, as well as, high-conflict relationships and concerns of child abuse takes a toll on the mental health of parents and children. My client-centered, strength-based approach and use of various therapeutic approaches work to heal existing wounds.
